FIGHTING THE FREE-RADICAL FOE POWER UP WITH VITAMERS - "HOW TO LIVE A LONG TIME" LIST: WE'VE BEEN CHELATED
Being in the communication business, we didn't stop there. We nagged the kids, our parents, in-laws, friends, neighbors - everyone who would listen - to do the same. "No more potato kugel," we warned mama, and carefully refused dinner invitations from couples apt to serve food we wouldn't eat at home.
With that as background, let it be clearly understood that we've based what follows on what we've gleaned over the years. We are not in the 'advice' business; we are not doctors; we do not presume to know what's good for anyone except ourselves. We are willing to share the strategies we've adopted to preserve our loved ones' health. Keep it in mind, that what's worked for us may be all wrong for someone else.
Heading up our "How To Live a Long Time" list: we've been chelated. Our original intent was to experience at first-hand the therapy we were writing about, considering it dishonest to introduce readers to a procedure we had not tested.
Did we enjoy it? No. It was boring and swiped time from our super-busy work schedules. Did we benefit? Not having suffered any diagnosable symptoms, it's hard to document positive results. We were healthy pre-chelation; healthy post-chelation. It certainly did us no harm, and probably did us much good, since we continue (almost two decades into current careers) to follow as active, energetic and productive an agenda as people half our age. Most days we're up at 5:30, still hard at work at midnight. We're sufficiently pro-chelation to continue with periodic 'booster' shots of EDTA, convinced it's the best established defense against environmental-imposed toxicity and the normal ravages of aging.
Do we encourage others to do the same? We urge everyone to investigate the appropriateness of chelation for themselves.
